Invisible Me The unseen currents that shape us
A space to explore invisible health conditions
A space to explore invisible health conditions
I remember my time as a Broadcast Assistant at a well-known radio station, where I had the chance to help shape audio documentaries that reached millions. It was exciting work—but it was also where I first felt how misunderstood invisible conditions and disabilities really were.
I was passionate about telling the stories of people living with conditions you can’t see. But no one seemed to get it. No one openly shared having a disability—visible or otherwise—and there was little appetite to learn. One Executive Producer even suggested we “put a Fearne Cotton in an arm bandage and have her talk about disabilities.”
It wasn’t just tone-deaf — it missed the point entirely.
That experience stayed with me.
At Invisible Me, we exist to do the opposite. We shine a light on invisible conditions through honest, authentic conversations. Our mission is to raise awareness, challenge assumptions, and support people living with health issues that are often unseen, unnoticed, and too easily dismissed.
Because disability doesn’t always look the way people expect—and no one should have to justify their pain when they hear, “But you don’t look sick. Why are you acting like that?”
